Penshoppe's New Duds

Barely got to the Penshoppe event (for Philippine Fashion Week).  Hubby accompanied me, and he doesn't like getting there early.
Good thing we made it before they started.  I love the setup:
They made quite the first impression, kicking it off with this big-haired girl:
Up next were girls showcasing the sporty chic look:
Then, there's denimlab. Loving the soft denim jodhpurs:
Distressed denim with gray hues:
Gray is still the new black:
Looking tough in camo:
Here's a video of the whole collection. You can focus on the projected "screens" if you want to see the details.
And the finale, with Penshoppe's Brand Director Alex Mendoza:
SM's Pia Abad was with us, and we bumped into one of Penshoppe's endorsers.
Pretty girl! Sorry, I forgot her name :o

Of course, the hubby took a photo of me and Pia ;)

In my opinion, great styling and fabulous show setup.
The clothes are mostly basic in style, but I am quite impressed with how they put them all together :D
How about you? What are your thoughts?

Skater Chicks

You've seen them around... the skaters. Doing their stunts at the park or at the entrance/exit areas of the mall. I've wondered so many times—how come no one has provided them with a real skate park?

But thanks to Republ1c, we now have our very own skate park:

Designed by a California skate park design company, with over 450 skate parks for communities all across the world including ESPN’s X Games skate park, the XVIB Skate Park promises some super fun sessions. Made of professional grade material flown in from the US, skateboarders will love the safe and smooth ride. This skate park provides challenging obstacles such a fun box, elbow pipe, starting rail, hubba ledge, quarter pipes, and hip banks to nail their tricks. Located indoors and properly ventilated, XVIB provides comfort and shelter from the rain and heat.

Now, we know that the male population dominates this "sport," but guess what? There were quite a few hot chicks who love skateboarding, too! Check them out:

Sweet Nails

Got the full service yesterday at Posh Nails T. Morato. My family and I are regulars at their Greenhills branch, but I must say that the service here is pretty good, too! Parking is free, btw.

Another plus? They always have new magazines for you :D

After 1.5 hours of pampering, I came out with these below. For the hands, I tried on their "Lollipop" from their latest Sweet collection. For the feet, I had Orly's Lola.

Now, I have really short nails as you can see from the photos above. But what the heck, if they didn't look good on me, there's always polish remover ;) To my surprise, the more I look at my nails, the more I'm loving them :) I CAN have colored nails—oh, joy!

They each come with a tiny tube of lip gloss—how cute right? Here's a close-up shot (without the gloss):
orly sweet collection nail polish set
A delicious collection of vibrant, candy-inspired pastels. Cool off with the refreshing yellow of Lemonade and the chilly blue of Snowcone. Satisfy your sweet tooth and your spring wardrobe with the cool aqua of Gumdrop or the lavender Lollipop. The Sweet lacquers come with a FREE matching mini lip gloss on every bottle (while supplies last).

Aren't they cotton-candy delicious? ;P Now, wouldn't it be fun to apply one color on each nail? Tee hee :D

Shopping List for The Ramp

Check out our top five of what's new at The Ramp ;)

Now, this is not your regular LBD

Great play on stripes

Power shoulders for the corporate gal

A faded strip makes this an interesting skirt

Nude lining under sheer black fabric is definitely sexy!
Our color preference doesn't include black at all, but we were surprised to find out our top five is predominantly black.  The Ramp obviously has great pieces that made us look at pieces we normally wouldn't ;)

And as evidenced in her fashion blog, Andi knows her fashion well. The young stunner is so well-versed with trends and fashion that she exclaimed, “Even if they didn’t get me, I’d still shop at The Ramp because of their super on-trend pieces,” the young actress enthuses. “You won’t see their items just anywhere, plus everything’s so affordable. So you can get more!” Andi laughingly shares.

*The Ramp is located at Crossings, Shangri-la Plaza Mall; Glorietta; and TriNoma.

Blues' Clues

The launch of The Ramp’s latest fashion ambassador, Andi Eigenmann, just proves that great minds do think alike. I was greeted by a sea of blues in various shades, combinations and prints. It seems that everyone is still very much in the hot summer beach mode. Check out how they made blue cool:

Pretty sisters Alyssa and Alyanna Martinez looked very much coordinated,
with Alyssa in a solid bright hue, and Alyanna in a soft floral printed tunic.

General Manager Xandra Ramos went for drapes in this floral number—check out her bright blue patent bag!
Preview’s Pauline Suaco-Juan kept it sleek and lowkey with an iridescent peacock polo and black pencil skirt.

Marketing Manager Renee Funtanilla rocks in this embellished shoulder jersey dress.

Proud mom Jaclyn Jose, with brother Gabi Eigenmann, played with subtle contrast
by wearing an emerald-colored pendant with her floral tunic.

Other people we bumped into:
schoolmate Patricia Cusi-Ramos who is coincidentally a new mom, like us ;)

newly-wed Mariel Chua-Jimenez of AllMySugar and NyMinutenow with Gia Ramos

... and of course, the lady of the night... Andi Eigenmann.

Don't you just love her outfit?  Priced at P2,650. Not bad, indeed!

Cool Shoes

Look what we have here :D

Thank goodness hubby got a pair of these upcycled Terra Plana sneakers from barefoot store in SM Mall of Asia! Because of this pair, we remembered that our little one had something similar as well. Little J's is Tip Toey Joey's...

We're loving the packaging of both shoes. Hubby's box has a cool green printed inner that's made of recycled materials (we're assuming).

...while Tip Toe Joey box provides you with a measuring grid so you'll know which shoe size to get.

Here are the two pairs, side by side. We just found it too cute that they're almost exactly alike in style.

What we like about Terra Plana:
Terra Plana utilizes eco-conscious and innovative materials from the sole to the trim of your shoes. Terra Plana shoes are composed of chrome-free and vegetable tanned leathers, biodegradeable soiling, recyycled seatbelts and jeans, reclaimed rubber, e-leather, and uses a new technique that recycles leather by re-weaving leather scraps and fibers. And to top it all off, the heels come with a memory foam foot bed for added comfort.

What we love about Tip Toey Joey:
Tip Toey Joey is soft and nonrestrictive. Made from 100% soft genuine leather, leather lined with a padded leather insole allows baby's feet to flex naturally. With nothing to tie up or come undone... makes them easy to put on, but hard for babies to pull them off. They have a thin and flexible non-slip rubber sole to give grip and protection.

We've road tested these babies, click to view the photos of our stylish dad and son tandem here.
* For more information on Tip Toey Joey, you can click here.
* barefoot store is located at the 2nd Level South Entertainment Mall at the SM Mall of Asia.

All In Order

Summer is almost over, and we haven't been to Boracay.  It's the first time since we've started working that we didn't go to our beach mecca.  Oh well, Boracay isn't as nice as it used to be—ok, we're trying to make ourselves feel better ;)

Anyways, look what we have that's perfect for the beach trips... a FILED! beach bag to help you keep everything organized. This summer tote comes with a detachable and water-resistant gadget pocket, a removable toiletry pouch, water bottle and slippers slots at the sides, and a free wet clothes bag. There’s even room for your towel, hat, and bikinis!

Available in three color combinations (apple/pink, aqua/pink, and plum/purple), these summer totes are sold for P695 each. Dimensions are 13” x 17.5” x 7” thick. Click on this link for more details.

High-Heel Sale

Twenty-one-year-old student Rachelle Lim has a different love affair with heels: “I really love heels but I don’t usually wear them. I’m always on flats, though I have a huge collection of high heels just for display. I just love staring at them.”

In photo: designer Reian Mata with Rachelle Lim

This obsession for heels led her to ship in these pretty shoes from Los Angeles. With only one size per pair, it makes it even more enticing to have one (or even two or more!) reserved under your name. Nothing less than four inches, her heels have caught the eye of designers Reian Mata, Chris Diaz, and Joel Escober. They’ve used her shoes in their collections for Philippine Fashion Week, and got great reviews, too!

We can't wait for the next batch of her goodies at the next Philippine Fashion Week ;)  In the meantime, check out the albums in her facebook page.  Click on this
link.   Two albums full of pretty shoes are on sale!  They're actually opening a store, so it's kinda a moving out sale from their little nook at the Archaeology Wing, Power Plant Mall.  Congrats, Rachelle!  We can't wait for your new store to open.

Check out our shortlist of HOHH shoes.  Got to trim it down, and stay on a budget.
Sigh! What to pick? :o

The Pearl Goes to Pampanga

Over the past year, we have come to love pearls—the golden champagne ones, to be exact. Jewelmer’s quest to educate people on a global scale on South Sea pearls has made me appreciate these nacred jewels that our country is quite known for.

Only a handful know of Jewelmer’s pearl farm in Palawan, which “is bringing the brand experience to a wider audience by opening more showrooms in the Philippines,” shares retail manager Catrina Paulino. Its latest branch at the Marquee Mall in Pampanga also showcased a pearl exhibit, which depicts the life of the golden South Sea pearls from its inception until they have been crafted into jewelry pieces. “We hope to bring this display to hotels and other premier shopping destinations this year,” adds Paulino. And while that’s still being scheduled, you can view their re-launched website for more information on our country’s finest pearls.

Hosted by endorsers Suzi Entrata-Abrera and Atty. Gaby Concepcion, the event treated guests to an afternoon of pearl appreciation, with Jewelmer models Girlie Benitez, Bianca Valerio, Melissa Frye and Isabel Roces dressed in citrus-colored gowns by Rhett Eala and wearing Jewelmer pieces.

The arrival of Piolo Pascual was a welcome surprise. The dashing actor came in a blushing pink polo with a solo golden pearl pendant as his chosen accent. “It’s an honor, it gives me so much pride to be representing not just the pearl but the Jewelmer family. It brings me so much joy to be a Filipino wearing our nations pride and representing our country and the pearl both here and abroad,” said Pascual.
