A Shoe-In

We’ve noticed a welcome change at Lacoste shoe shops, with styles that are geared towards a more polished and feminine look. Think Audrey Hepburn and the ‘50s era, and you’ve got ballet flats, loafers and peep-toe wedges dominating the store.


All branded with the signature croc logo, these shoe models have kept the casual and comfy vibe of the shoe line. I'm liking the Quenza design, a slim and pointy toe pair of flats that comes with lace-up details that’s a mix of urban chic. The white-colored rubber sole makes it an interesting piece, too!

Another pair that I'm eyeing are their slip-on loafers called the Concours, which comes in suede materials in colors blue and gray. Perfect for walking all day long, and even for driving (with its rubber driver sole), this androgynous pair gives adds a tomboyish flair to your outfit.

Other pairs that you should watch out for are the Calavante—a fabric-colored wedge made of brushed cotton that comes in bright hues to cheer you up. 

Another addition to the loafer style is the Courcelle 2. With its tassel tongue detail and delicate leather lace bow, this tan full-grain leather is the perfect accompaniment to your daily walks.

I personally think flats are back in fashion, and what Lacoste has affordable styles for you to choose from.  Don't you agree? :)

The Flat Line

High heels will always be close to my heart, but we need to give our legs and feet a rest.  When I know I’ll be running around the whole day, I take into consideration some stylish flats to keep me on the go.  Here are what’s on my list:

Lacoste stays true to its classic cuts with its latest offerings from the Sola collection. A textured combination of leather and suede, with earth-toned hues, is on-trend for the cool season ahead.  Take your pick from the round-toe loafers (Silesia) and sleek rubber shoe style (Orsola).

For those who wish to take a step further in saving our planet, try Simple Shoes’ Bio D-Kay rubber sneaks for casual weekends. Featuring eco-certified leather uppers and certified organic cotton laces, this pair even has a bio-degradeable midsole and outsole, with recycled and natural rubber, too!  What more can you ask for? Its comfy sole is great accompaniment when you’re up for some brisk walking around the village.

And, for the men in your life, I found this retro pair that they will surely love. Sebago reintroduces its Trend Docksides that come in three- and four-color combinations. Two of which have an extra dose of black patent leather combo that gives a modern twist to this classic style. Additional good news: only 24 pairs are available across these three styles.  How’s that for being limited?

Lastly, take care of your feet by wearing flip-flops when you can. I change from high heels to these flip-flops when I drive to give my feet some rest, and to avoid getting dirt and scuffs on my pretty heels.  I’ve found an affordable pair of them that’s made from Brazil called Ginga. Changing to these soft flats is always a welcome treat for a hard day’s walk.

Feet-ish Dads

If you think your dad needs a new pair of sneaks, then Lacoste would be your safe and best bet for a Father's Day gift. A classic footwear brand that would surely meet your dad's taste—don't all dads love Lacoste shirts? :) Footwear in casual, preppy, country club and nautical styles are the staple looks of the brand, and has been reinvented to give a mix of retro styles and contemporary materials for a more modern vibe. Reasonably priced at approximately P5000 a pair, this is a refreshing alternative present to give indeed!

A combination of suede and perforated leather, the Hawthorn (comes in black and white)

is for the hip young dad and is perfect for casual weekends.

The Karas will surely be a bestseller. A stylish take on the hiking shoe,

this leather pair lends a sophisticated vibe for weekend city hikes.

The white version is my fave from the lot.

The Ortai style could also be his pick. Reminiscent of retro bowling shoes, these classy leather sneaks
