Four Play

The formal launch of the four Ralph Lauren Big Pony scents was held at the one and only Art of Scent store in Resorts World.  I like the fact that the store has coffee beans for you to smell in between testing scents.

Anyways, to the perfumes—four were released with a brand ambassador representing each bottle.

RL Big Pony 1, the fragrance that embodies the game of sport and addresses the challenge of performance was represented by Rovilson Fernandez, a well-known health buff who was also part of the Amazing Race Asia Season 1.

RL Big Pony 2, the scent that brings men into the game of seduction conquering love and affection was represented by Brazilian-Japanese model-actor Daniel Matsunga; a perfect match with his chiseled body and sultry stare that could melt hearts of thousands.

RL Big Pony 3, fit for the game of adventure and the challenge of the outdoors was embodied by the adventurous Rich Herrera, winner of this season’s Amazing Race Asia.

RL Big Pony 4, representing youthful style and sophistication, was personified by the trendy and fashionable Mike Concepcion, owner of modern yet socially conscious clothing boutique Greater Good.

Four Play

Selecting perfume can be quite a difficult task, most especially when you have to walk around the whole department store to check each and every scent and brand. It’s a good thing United Colors of Benetton and Ralph Lauren now each have a fragrance line in groups of four for you to choose from.


Who can forget United Colors of Benetton (UCB) in the ‘80s and ‘90s? UCB makes a hot comeback with its colorful line of fragrances—Rosso (red) and Giallo (yellow) for the ladies; Verde (green) and Blu (blue) for the gentlemen. Each represents a personality and a scent preference: the Rosso is floral and fruity, that’s perfect for the sexy woman; the Giallo fits ladies who are the life of the party with its musky floral scent. Men will love Verde for its mix of fruity and woody scents, while Blu is for the man who loves the outdoors, with lavender and basil that give a fresh and calming effect.

Ralph Lauren Polo scents are also a blast from the past. This time around, its Big Pony Fragrance collection also offers four fragrances to cater to different passions: sport, seduction, adventure and style. Each bottle is labeled with a number, which represents the four passions of the male gender. Sports fanatics will love #1 with its citrus mix of lime and grapefruit for an energizing boost. Dark chocolate and musk will awaken the senses with #2, while the #3 bottle has combination of mint and ginger root which mimics that of the outdoors—best for the adventurous. Lastly, for #4, mandarin and kyarawood gives a luxurious and sleek scent that the stylish man will surely love.
