Soaring High with My New Nails

Got invited to try Orly's newest collection at Beauty and Butter:

It's my first time here, and I love the cut-out of the reception area:

The set-up is really interesting, a la lazy-boy movie-watchng setup :)

I chose "fowl play." The nail technician said it was the crowd favorite, along with sea gurl:

I love mine because it has little pink glitter :D  A word of advice though: this color has the thickest consistency due to the glitter that comes with it, so best that you stay put longer than usual to let your nails dry.

Nail Sanctuary

I hardly attend events now, due to my work schedule.  So, I was pretty elated to find out that I get to go this time—at Nail-a-holics in SM MOA :)

I'm loving the theme of the nail salon:

It feels like I'm at a relaxing beach house. You gotta love the uniform of the nail technicians, too! ;)

... and Earth of Earthlingorgeous and Lace of Style and Relax. Earth is wearing a Forever 21 top (naks!) and Lace doesn't look like she just gave birth two months ago—wow!

I had my manipedi a few days ago, so I just opted to try their Paraffin Wax treatment on both my hands and feet.  
I needed those badly to take away all the stress!

Sally was so nice. She made sure that I can "take the heat" ;) The massage was also wonderful.

After the treatment, I went around to check out the place. This is the view going up...

Sweet Nails

Got the full service yesterday at Posh Nails T. Morato. My family and I are regulars at their Greenhills branch, but I must say that the service here is pretty good, too! Parking is free, btw.

Another plus? They always have new magazines for you :D

After 1.5 hours of pampering, I came out with these below. For the hands, I tried on their "Lollipop" from their latest Sweet collection. For the feet, I had Orly's Lola.

Now, I have really short nails as you can see from the photos above. But what the heck, if they didn't look good on me, there's always polish remover ;) To my surprise, the more I look at my nails, the more I'm loving them :) I CAN have colored nails—oh, joy!  

They each come with a tiny tube of lip gloss—how cute right? Here's a close-up shot (without the gloss):

Dip Your Hands, or should I say, Nails? :)

How I wish I have pretty, long nails :( Will try my best to grow them so I can use Orly's Once Upon A Time collection—available only until January 31, 2010.

Pretty Digits

I've always had a hard time growing my nails, and it's only now that I'm pregnant that I am able to have them long—probably from the pre-natal vitamins that I've been taking, or maybe because I move around less now. Either way, I'm enjoying them :)

Anyways, I did two salon reviews for HIPP magazine (a new parenting magazine with this month's cover, Chiz Escudero, in time for Father's Day. Get your copy now :D), and was inspired to put color on my digits. I was a bit hesitant at first, but I was amazingly giddy after having my nails painted. Don't worry, as me and my baby are safe from the harsh chemicals of polish. I've double-checked with dermas regarding Orly and it is quite safe for me to use. 

An important step that most of us forget (most likely because we're in a hurry) is that you have to apply a base coat.  This will protect our nails from turning yellow, and it will help them "breathe."  A base coat will help keep your nail polish intact, along with a top coat to prevent it from chipping off.  One that you should get is Orly's Top to Bottom polish (a top and base coat in one).
