Slip Into These Funky Flipflops
With so many flip-flops sprouting left and right, it takes the right color combination, design and style to get noticed. One of them is Cushe (pronounced cu-shy), a lifestyle footwear brand from the UK. Put up in 2004, this fairly young brand was conceptualized and realized by a set of footwear designers.
“Our aim is to make something a bit different, unique and set apart from the masses, challenging the boundaries of footwear design rather than following trends set by others,” shares the people of Cushe. And we have to agree, their flip-flop line alone is enough to make us stop in our tracks and give it a second look.
These visual appeals, along with guaranteed comfort for your soles, make purchasing a Cushe easy and fast. Other fun and bright colorful combinations are available.
*Visit Cushe at TriNoma, Newport City, Power Plant Mall, Shangri-la Mall, Planet Sports in Glorietta and Power Plant Mall, The Shoe Shop in Power Plant Mall and Alabang Town Center, J&S Surf Shop in Pasong Tamo and Urban Atheltics in Greenbelt 3.

We're loving the honeycomb pattern on the foot bed of their latest Manuka Fearless flip flop.
The colorful combinations of the Manuka Fossil Flop is also very hard to resist.

Yummy Facials
Got this a few weeks ago from the Montagne Jeunesse team:
They've really put a lot of thought into this press kit :) Included in the kit are a CD, some printouts, and a Chocolate Mud Masque.
You've got to love the idea of making the mask chocolate-flavored. It's supposed to de-stress, aside from deeply cleansing your skin. I left the mask on for a good 15 minutes. Those 15 minutes were a breeze, as I love every minute of it! I think the smell of chocolate gave me an extra dose of endorphins. Haha... And after washing it off, I immediately felt that my skin feels tighter, cleaner and glowing! Not bad for P77.75 a pack. And I didn't even finish the pack, so it's actually good for 2 uses ;)
I can't wait to try the other variants: Peach Kernels & Walnut Exfoliating Mask exfoliates and brightens up skin. Aloe Vera & Green Tea Face Tonic softens the skin and protects it from oxidative damage. Dead Sea Mud Pac cleans deeply and nourishes with seaweed and minerals from the Dead Sea, with a hint of lavender. Aromatherapy Masque is a good choice to calm your skin after a day in the sun or a particularly stressful activity.
*Available at Watsons, Landmark Dept Stores, Gaisano Metro Group, Gaisano Regional.

Kiehl's Gives Back
Another global beauty brand joins in being good to Mother Earth:
In honor of Earth Day last April 22, 2010, Kiehl’s Since 1851, the venerable New York-based purveyor of fine quality skin and hair care, is pleased to announce a Limited Edition collection, where 100% of net proceeds will benefit the Rainforest Alliance, a nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving biodiversity and ensuring sustainable livelihoods.
Staying true to Kiehl’s longstanding mission of supporting initiatives to help preserve and protect the environment, “Friends of Kiehl’s” have created Limited Edition labels for the 100% natural and ECOCERT-certified organic, Açaí Damage-Protecting Toning Mist. Utilizing a high concentration of super-antioxidant organic açaí berry, responsibly grown and cultivated in the Brazilian Amazon, the anytime toning mist refreshes and soothes skin, while providing a sheer layer of antioxidant protection against environmental aggressors.

The Limited Edition series, available worldwide for the month of April, features four special labels designed exclusively for Kiehl’s, in a combined effort to raise funding and awareness for rainforest conservation. Internationally renowned, socially conscious influencers:
1. actress Julianne Moore
"When asked to create a label for the new ACAI Damage-Protecting Toning Mist---with 100% of the proceeds going to charity---it was a no brainer because I've been shopping at Kiehl's for years, I believe in the company, and I hope that my involvement will encourage my peers to generate awareness for socially responsible causes and to find new and innovative ways to be more kind to the planet."
2. artist Jeff Koons
"As I have often said, art to me is a humanitarian act and I believe that there is a responsibility that art should somewhow be able to affect humankind, to make the world a better place. I'm excited to work with Kiehl's, because I feel that as a comnpany they also strive to in some way make the world we live in better for all; as evidenced by this philanthropic campaign."
3. musician Pharrell Williams
"For my labe, I used camouflage. I don't like the idea that camouflage is always linked to war, it's intended for disguise and that's why I chose it. I incorporated all kinds of little images and animals inspired by the rainforest into my labe., and threw in the iconic BBC/IceCream logo... you can find a digital spacesuit helmet on the front of the label as well."
Each created a label that depicts their vision of social responsibility. One of the labels also features a colorful pencil sketch, hand drawn by one of the children of the community in the Brazilian Amazon that cultivates the açaí berries utilized in the Kiehl’s collection, and showcases their life on the Amazon River.
*Kiehl's is located at Greenbelt 5.

White Hats for the Scholars
I believe that education is the solution to poverty. That, and hard work, and you'll be able to reach your dreams. Tomorrow, White Hat and Ms. Miriam Quiambao will be at Shangri-la Plaza mall. With the former beauty queen as the celebrity server of this delicious yogurt brand. 50% of the proceeds will go to the Real Life Foundation. This group is already supporting 115 scholars.
And for every 250 cups serve, the amount combined can already provide a year of high school education! A double treat is also coming your way on the 25th as the beauty queen herself will be serving you your very own yogurt and you can also have a taste of her unique creation, “Have the hots for Miriam’s Hat!” A two very special combos to satisfy your day – Summer Delight, a refreshing combination of our very own Homemade Granola, Kiwi, Peaches or Strawberries for the fabulously healthy and Passionate Indulgence, a tempting combination of Homemade Brownies, Walnut Streusel and Chocolate Syrup for the young at heart.
Together with "the perfect white shirt," a limited edition tee is also available. I'm not too sure of the price though. Just ask the staff when you get there:
See ya all at White Hat, Shang ;)

A Beautiful Earth
Did you know that yesterday was Earth Day? It totally slipped my mind until I browsed my inbox and found this PR below. We've really abused Mother Earth, and it's high time to give back and help save our one and only world. Here's how Lush is contributing to make this world a better place:
Environmental awareness may only just be creeping into the consciousness of the beauty industry, but there’s one company who has been pioneering in this field since its inception - LUSH fresh, handmade cosmetics. April 22nd 2010 will mark the 40th anniversary of the first Earth Day, when 20 million Americans protested against the damage being done to the planet. 2010 also marks Lush’s 15th anniversary and we are as committed today to ethical trading and sustainability as we were all those years ago.
Being green and environmentally aware doesn’t necessarily mean you have to spend a fortune, or give up all your favourite luxury products. When you buy from Lush you are guaranteed the most beautiful, fresh, effective products possible … you can also be happy in the knowledge that the company does all it can to help preserve our planet the way it is. As we like it that way and don’t want to loose it.
We especially like being naked and encourage you to do the same! Our innovative range of solid products allow minimal or no preservatives and packaging, which means less waste heading to landfill. 67% of our current product range is ‘naked’ and in 2009, in the UK alone, we sold over 5.9 million naked items.
200,000 of these items were shampoo bars, meaning that 15 tonnes of plastic was avoided. Lush shampoo bars are small, convenient, easy to carry and easy to use. Use them just like soap to effectively clean the hair of everyday dirt and grime. Each bar lasts for over 80 washes, the equivalent of 3 bottles of 250g shampoo, which is both kinder for the environment and your wallet. Choose from ten varieties, including Squeaky Green, P345 or Godiva shampoo and conditioning bar, P525—photo below:
Lush’s other solid products include bath ballistics, bubble bars, body butters, massage bars, cleansers, shower jellies, sugar scrubs and soap. Lush has started to produce palm-free soaps from the London factory that’s set to be rolled out worldwide. The soaps have a base that’s palm oil free, which means a reduction in our annual palm use by approximately 250,000 kg.
It’s imperative other businesses do the same, as until global levels of palm use are cut dramatically, and plans to use palm oil as a biofuel are scrapped entirely, there is little hope for a workable sustainable palm oil industry, and the future of the forests, animals and people of Indonesia and Malaysia is bleak. By choosing products not containing palm oil, like Lush soap, you are doing your bit to help preserve the only remaining habitat of the orangutan, as if things continue as they are then they will be extinct within 10 years.
Lush has a very strong commitment to the communities and areas from which we buy our ingredients. We feel that all ingredients should be bought in a respectful way and that we tread as lightly on the planet as possible. In order to understand the impact of our purchasing decisions, for many years we have had a policy of trying to eliminate the ‘middle man’ wherever possible and going straight to the growers and processors in order to learn the true story of each ingredient. This also enables us to check the impact our buying has.
*In the Philippines, Lush is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists, Inc. (SSI) and is located at Glorietta 4, Power Plant Mall, Shangri-La Mall, Greenbelt 3, Mall of Asia, and Bonifacio High Street. You may also visit them online at by clicking here.
Oh, the Flip Flop craze started yesterday. Head out to Rockwell Tent and get your very own personalized Havaianas. To check out how the first day was, go to this link to read all about it ;)

A Stylish Step Towards Preserving Marine Life
Brazilian goddess and supermodel Gisele Bündchen proves that there is more to her than just her never-ending long and luscious legs. With a steady flow of Ipanema collections as endorsed by Bündchen, the two recently released their latest collection called “Colorful Sea.”
Inspired by the sea, these new flip flop line has an ocean-inspired theme with an advocacy that UN ambassador Gisele Bündchen supports. Every GB collection is used to raise funds and awareness for a targeted eco-cause. This year, the “Colorful Sea” footwear line is dedicated in preserving Brazil’s turtle population, and their local marine life.
An event was held recently to launch the new collection:
The gradient sole is definitely eye-catching.

Each pair takes its inspiration from the marine wildlife with star accents, and ocean-colored soles that will make anyone excited to wear them to the beach this summer. Check out my top picks:
Gray is the new black!

I just had to include these. Ipanema for baby girls! How cute! :D

A Different Kind of Pink Party
As promised, here is my photoblog of what happened at Kira's pink party:
Was greeted by ladies, all in hot pink dresses.
and were given these glow-sticks/bracelets. Nice touch!
Ding Dong Dantes walked right in front of me :o
and was escorted to sit beside Kira
Nagkahiyaan? haha...
Glad to bump into some ol' friends. Was really touched that Brent Javier still remembers me. In photo, with his girlfriend Karen Pamintuan. Lovely looking couple, don't you think? :)
Former Pink lifestyle editor, and now with Stylebible.ph, Nikki Santiago
Shopcrazy's Leona Panutat
... and the fashion show begins:
Tim Yap, with Divine Lee, chatting with Kira
Kira's bodyguard on standby
Running for San Juan Vice Mayor is Francis Zamora (if you're registered in san juan, do vote for him :D) with Tim Yap
Bumped into Posh Nails' Cat Ilacad, with Candice Gil and ABS-CBN's Gretchen Fullido
Kira and her team were scheduled to leave that night for Russia. She saw a picture of our jeepney, and asked if she could ride one on her way to the airport. Stratworks (the PR agency) found an airconditioned one!
Everyone was busy taking photos:
I was invited to join, but had to pass since it was really getting late. I had work the next day. Tim, Tessa Prieto-Valdes, and Divine joined them though:
Last photo of the jeep before we got into our car
They even had police escorts to make travel easier and faster.

Kira Opens Her Second Store in Manila
Dropped by the Kira Plastinina's 2nd store opening at Shangri-la Plaza mall last Friday:
Aren't the floral arrangements pretty? :) They're about 4 feet tall.
Did my rounds. Pretty much excited with KP's new designs.
Liking these in-store displays. Very cartoon-y
She's obviously a girl who shares my love for the color pink. The swivel chairs are so pretty!
Check out their wares:
Will post photos from the party at The Establishment tomorrow ;)
