Artistic Fusion

Accessories designer Yekky Balingit of Miadore was featured recently in our pages, but it wasn’t just us who took notice of this crafty artist. Together with the designers of the Fashion Designers Alliance Manila (FaDAL) and photographer Seven Barretto, he recently held a photo-exhibit-slash-launch, at 7th High in Bonifacio High Street.

The exhibit featured Balingit’s exquisite neckpieces as well as FaDAL clothes in dramatic photographs. Shot on gray background, the models’ bodies and faces were covered in brownish black eyeshadow to further highlight both the clothes and the accessories. From crystallized neckpieces to edgy shoulder caps, even tassel danglers, bejeweled cuffs, and brooches for men, Balingit’s creations are amazing.
