Back to Regular Programming

I'm back!!! :D And one of the first things on my to-do-list is to head out to SM Megamall to check out Kate Torralba's goods (in collaboration with Paperdolls). I've always preferred colors, and KT does prints and patterns so well—with a girly/feminine flavor, too! Here's what's in the press kit that they sent:

The Beautiful World of KT
Playing dress up is part of every woman’s childhood – reaching into mom’s closet for that lovely dress, opening her box of jewelry and wearing those sky-high heels. Celebrating this, Paperdolls hosted a night of reminiscing with the presentation of its latest fashion collaboration with designer extraordinaire Kate Torralba.

Gorgeously dolled-up guests entered the Rockwell Tent and immediately felt the warm and inviting vibe of the event. A huge doll-house façade formed the stage with bright pink lights emanating from its windows and popping from all over the venue. The cocktail tables were candle-lit and contained a doll, clad in the night’s featured outfits. Upon registering, guests were invited to take the challenge and unclutter their closets for a cause. All the clothing collected from the drive will be donated to the Philippine National Red Cross. A wall was put up where their pledge sheets were posted. Just as everyone loves playing dress-up, so do they love having their photos taken and an uber cute photo booth set-up did just that.

Host Joey Mead welcomed the guests and invited them to enliven their inner child. One of the country’s sought-after bands, Up Dharma Down, played their original music as guests enjoyed a sumptuous serving from Cibo and overflowing wine and cocktails from Ralph’s Wines & Spirits and Absolut Vodka. Soon, it was time for the highlight of the night. The fashion show was led by Kate Torralba’s muses including Tessa Prieto-Valdes, Divine Lee, Karen Pamintuan and sisters Maxene and Saab Magalona. Kate Torralba, who equally loves fashion and music, capped the night off with her enchanting vocals.

In constant search for original and up-to-date style and as a toast to its 25th year, Paperdolls collaborated with the colorful, whimsical, and vivacious designer Kate Torralba for the KT for PAPERDOLLS collection. With splashes of color such as orange, fuschia, blue, and chocolate brown in solids and unmistakably KT prints, comfy stretch jersey and reliable cotton, KT for PAPERDOLLS pieces are everyday staples you’d love to have in your closet!

Take your pick among short and maxi dresses, playsuits, and top and skirt ensembles. Channel a classy look with tops that come in quirky boxy sleeves called Ballet Wraps. Go chic and girly with striped skirts and asymmetrical dresses. Get ready for the office in blazers and bottoms or laid-back Saturdays in shorts and exclusive KT for Paperdolls graphic printed tees, especially made for Kate Torralba and Paperdolls lovers. The pieces are versatile and can be worn from day to night, mixed and matched, and played up just the way you want it.
